Becoming Virtuous Stewards through Scripture Memory
Thursday May 8, 2025 10:30am - 11:20am EDT
In today's society we are surrounded and taunted with chaos and confusion regarding what we are to believe and practice. That’s Impossible!
Thursday May 8, 2025 10:30am - 11:20am EDT
The presence of instinct in animals provides some of the best evidence for original design in nature. All creatures have it, and the wide array of abilities is staggering! However, it doesn’t stop there. From instinct we move on to symbiotic relationships, particularly “mutualism”, which is nothing short of impossible from a naturalistic perspective. Spiritual blindness is the only answer to this dilemma that many otherwise reasonable people are caught in. However, even Christians can sometimes fall prey to compromises...

Enjoy taking photos?! The Photo Class is a series of two interactive classroom sessions centered around learning practical photography skills regardless of what camera you have. Bring any camera! For any skill level. Let's go in-depth and more hands-on than a regular convention presentation. With the theme of "Learning to See Light", we'll explore the 5 distinct times of day in the natural world so we can take full advantage of whatever lighting situation you are shooting under. At the end, we'll pull up the photos everyone submitted for the Class Assignment and do some live photo coaching and critique. If you love snapping photos, you won't want to miss these sessions! God has given us a love for art and beautiful things . . . let's hone our photography skills for His glory!

Session 1: Maximizing Natural Light In Photography - Have you ever taken time to simply observe what the light was like in the natural world around you? Would you have guessed that there are 5 distinct times of day? And each one offers a host of unique opportunities for the photographer to explore! With the insights discussed in this session, you'll be equipped with the tools you need to get out and enjoy the outdoors, prepared to make the most of every photo op regardless of the time of day.

Session 2: Taking Your Photos to the Next Level - After shooting the Class Assignment given in the first session, we'll come back to the classroom for some constructive coaching centered around the photos you submit! What makes one photo better than another? How would a professional have shot the exact same thing? What do you not know yet that could make your photos better? Now's your chance to get some live photography coaching and take your photos to the next level!

Living Out Your Faith in a Culture That (Sometimes) Hates You
Thursday May 8, 2025 3:00pm - 3:50pm EDT
Jesus brought some hard truths to the 1st century culture when He walked the earth for 33 years. Some people loved him while others hated him and wanted him dead. Some things never change. America is becoming increasingly secular and anti-Christian attitudes and behaviors are gaining ground. Homeschooling brings with it an unhealthy stigma along with a unique set of challenges. Welcome to life as a Christ follower. So, how do you live it out successfully? How do you relate to and interact with outsiders? How do you handle relationships with the LGBTQ people in your life? Teen Creative Writing Workshop - Add-on Class
Thursday May 8, 2025 3:00pm - 5:10pm EDT
Learn how to write great stories from award-winning novelists!
Do you have a teen who enjoys writing fiction? Or maybe one that doesn’t like writing at all? We’re here to help them ignite their love of storytelling.

Many teens fall in love with writing when they can choose their own story ideas and write about concepts that matter to them. In this workshop, students will not only learn how to craft a standout novel from Josiah DeGraaf and award-winning author Kara Swanson, but also receive personal feedback on their story concept.
The class will cover how to craft:
• Sympathetic characters
• Gripping plot twists
• Resonant themes
• And more!

In addition to receiving individualized feedback, students will emerge from the workshop with a solid novel concept that carries deeper truths they're genuinely excited to write.
The Young Writer is a Christian organization that equips young writers in their teens and twenties to change the world with their words. Over the past six years, we've taught thousands of writers to write more, improve their craft, and glorify God with their writing.

About the Instructors
Kara Swanson is the Christy-award winning author of Dust, Shadow, and The Girl Who Could See. She is a faculty member of the Young Writer's Workshop as well as the co-founder of the Author Conservatory. She loves helping young writers unlock their potential and realize how rich their stories can be.

Josiah DeGraaf taught high school English for several years before becoming the program director of the Young Writer's Workshop. He loves helping young writers discover how to impact readers and make a difference with their words.

Today’s mothers are living in challenging times. We’re facing things that our mothers could never have imagined. From Internet predators to the rise of domestic terrorism to the discovery GMO’s BPA’s and STD’s… our lives are vastly different than the generation before us. Many moms are struggling with fear of the future and worry about raising children in today's culture—but God says loud and clear, "Do not be afraid! Be strong and courageous!" Mom, you have a mission. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to raise the next generation of teachers, doctors, judges, police officers, grocery store clerks, attorneys, nurses—and parents. Yes! You are raising the next generation of parents. Look around. It doesn’t take very long for one generation to hand the baton to the next, and as mothers, we've got to be ready to prepare our children for whatever they may face as followers of Jesus Christ. Heidi will challenge as she talks about what it will take to "Become MomStrong" —drawing on truths from God's Word to answer the tough questions this generation of kids is asking and prepare moms to meet the challenges head-on.

How to read, math, science and social studies, of course. But it also works when teaching a child how to tie a shoe, cook something, or even developing character traits. You will leave with a real plan that you can start today.

However, there are just 5 foundational concepts, simple enough for anyone to grasp and common to nearly every programming language. Further, there are tools and resources that make programming more accessible than ever before. An Unbeatable Homeschool Team
Saturday May 10, 2025 11:00am - 11:50am EDT
Marriage is hard…in fact, it’s real hard! Yet when it is right and good, it can withstand anything. It doesn’t matter what the economy does, the status of your bank account, the condition of your home or vehicles, or what your children dish out…because when a husband and wife are right, they’re unbeatable.

On the flip side, when a husband and wife feel distant or apathetic, it only takes the slightest breeze to ruffle a bunch of feathers. The truth is a mediocre marriage sucks the joy right out of life and your homeschool. The economy can swing up, your checking account can be healthy, your home and vehicles can purr like kittens, and the kids can behave like angels, and life still…stinks.

That’s because marriage matters.

Join Todd Wilson, The Familyman, for a time of laughter and encouragement as he shares real life stories, problems, and frustrations along with practical, simple solutions to having a marriage that can‘t be beat!

We know that God is incredibly innovative and diverse as expressed in His creation of every living creature. It’s astounding! Beauty, purpose and order are abundantly evident. However, so is the curse! Romans 8:22 claims that the creation is groaning because of sin and the curse. What was once totally beautiful is now stained with odd, bizarre, and uncanny expressions. Some things are ugly indeed, but even in this, there is amazing design! What appears to us as horrible still cannot happen if instinct and purpose are not built in! Responding Biblically to Fear, Worry and Anxiety
Saturday May 10, 2025 1:30pm - 2:20pm EDT
Most of us know that worry is wrong, so we disguise it with different terms like, “concerned,” “troubled,” or “bothered.” Regardless of the term used, worry saps our energy, drains our joy, destroys evangelism, and even aggravates many physical ailments. The Bible is clear that worry is sinful, idolatrous, and a sign of unbelief, and that fear is wrong when it is allowed to motivate thinking and behavior that is unbiblical. In this workshop, you will discover the biblical solutions to overcoming fear and worry and also how to apply these same truth in the lives of those you disciple.

Dealing with Doubt
Saturday May 10, 2025 3:00pm - 3:50pm EDT
I never assume all my students are authentic, biblical Christians. The vast majority have grown up in the church and done all the right church things…but that doesn’t make you a Believer any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. My classes are a “safe space” where students can express their doubts, but rarely do they feel comfortable doing that at church, or even at home. Come join me for an open and honest discussion about dealing with any doubts you may have, and how to advance in your Christian journey while sometimes struggling with your faith.

In April 2024 Sonya was diagnosed with breast cancer, and life suddenly didn’t look anything like she had planned. As she floundered through the next several months, God graciously met her where she was and reassured her that this unexpected bend in the road was not a surprise to Him. In fact, He had planned this part of her story all along. In this session she will share spiritual truth and practical ideas for when you walk through uncertain times and are challenged to let go of your plans and trust God’s plans.
